Franklin D. Roosevelt took many steps following John Maynard Keynes economic theory to involve the U.S. government in getting out of the Depression. He introduced many new policies during the first 100 days in office, and perhaps the most important was the New Deal. Under the New Deal, big projects that were of value to the country were made which helped hundreds of thousands unemployed workers. Roosevelt also introduced the Alphabet Agencies to help society stay stable, and working efficiently (TVA, FCA, NRA, CCC, AAA)With the new technology of the radio, he made a speech once a week that told civilians what the government is doing to help them which raised their confidence towards the banks (deficit financing) back up. Roosevelt steps to try to involve the U.S. government in the great depression were extremely successful, and as a result, is the longest serving American President; served for 4 years.
